You can use AutoFormat feature to correct hyperlink. First you should review AutoFormat options and confirm it doesn’t change anything you don’t want to.
Go to File on the ribbon

Choose Options at the bottom.

Go under Proofing and click on AutoCorrect Options

Remove the corrections you don’t need, but leave “Internet and network paths with hyperlinks”. Click OK and click OK again to leave options.

Now enable Autoformat with shortcut CTRL+ALT+K

You can also add AutoFormat button to Quick Access Toolbar. Click on the down arrow above the ribbon and choose More Commands…

Choose All Commands then choose AutoFormat… from the list and Click Add >>.

Click OK to leave the options.
