At the end of the day, it\u2019s all the same what the accounting policies in place do try to accomplish. When choosing for an accounting policy, you should also keep in mind the same requirements, key factors if you may even.<\/p>\n
Obviously if the effect of applying the policy is immaterial, you need not do it. However, do make a note of not ignoring the policy when it suits you the most. \u201cImmaterial\u201d in this sense means that it would have no effect on the decisions the users of the statements are making.
