Depending on your local legislation, it can be a monetary and a non-monetary payment, or it can comprise of both. Matter of fact is that this is considered as your starting capital you can essentially buy goods, equipment for and so on to start off with your business.<\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div>\nShare capital is a value that\u2019s the opposite on your company\u2019s balance sheet to its assets. More so, a share capital, whilst being just an account on your balance sheet, is not just an amount, but also consists of, as the name suggests, shares. The number of shares is something that\u2019s normally defined by the articles of association or a founding charter of your company. It should define the number of shares the entity initially starts with and the maximum amount of shares this company can have without changing the articles. More so, it should also state the face value of the shares as they\u2019re issued. It should also be mentioned that with the articles one can also determine the entity has preference shares or some other types of shares which give special rights, i.e. a definite right for dividends and so on. That\u2019s something which needs to be clarified and set within the entity\u2019s articles of association.<\/div>\n<div>\nAn entity\u2019s share capital is something for which most regulations also set minimum requirements in terms of its amount. And it\u2019s not just the minimum level, but there are also limitations to decreasing the share capital and certain procedures one should undergo such activities.
