Selling goods – what to watch out for

When you’re in the business of selling goods, the number one thing you must always watch out for is if you’re shipping / giving to the client on spot the actual right goods.

I know it sounds obvious, but it’s important for at least two reasons – a) the client gets what he or she wanted and b) your stocks show the right quantities. Always ensure the goods are correct for maintaining a good client relationship and also for keeping your records in order.

Another matter is the selling price you give for the good. Obviously you wouldn’t want to sell your client something that would cost more than what they wanted to buy. It’s one thing to have the item right, but another matter entirely charging the correct amount. Yes, if you sell them something wrong, it’s bad, but at least put a right price tag on.

And of course, what also matters is the presentation. Think before wrapping it into a plastic bag or something similar if the item couldn’t be packed into something nicer. Remember that most such little things do matter to your client and as such it wouldn’t hurt to put more thought into the presentation just as well.
