Double click on the header or footer to open header and footer tools. Under option section click Different Odd and Even Pages. Now your odd and even pages have their own header and footer.

If you are seeing {PAGE} or {NUMPAGES} and no actual page number then you have toggled to show field codes instead of values. Use keyboard shortcut ALT+F9 and actual values will appear.

There are 2 ways to do it. First you can go to top of the table and an arrow will appear. When you click then entire column is chosen.
Second way is to click on the table cell and table tools will appear. Choose layout tab. In table section click on Select and choose Column.
