Buying something is easy, but is it really worth the money spent? Is the investment really a good investment? You should never make an investment that’s really not doing anything useful for your business.
First thing first, think about the purpose of the investment. What do you really needed it for? Is it for improving something, developing something or just in “I think we may find it useful” category?
An investment is normally expected to either save you money or help generate that. Think about your new possible investment and whilst thinking if it falls into either of those categories try to also calculate on the amount it would either save or generate. Taking this sum, is the investment made really worth it? During which period will it pay for itself?
Another big thing to consider is if you could without it? It’s on one hand connected to the first question, but also the money spent on it and what it will help your business in.
As you can see, there are a lot questions to answer when deciding on whether to make an investment or not.
